Courtney
Stephenson

I help teams and organizations work through complicated, messy problems — breaking them into clear steps and building toward something that actually works. 10+ years of doing that across enterprise, nonprofits, and my own products.

Thinker.
Builder.
Operator.

I tend to be the person who slows down, asks the question nobody asked yet, and helps figure out what's actually going on. Whether it's a process that isn't working, a product idea that needs a shape, or a system that's gotten too complicated to manage — I like working through it methodically with the people involved and building something that makes sense. The technical background helps, but mostly I just like solving problems with people.

Where I've
Made Impact

Full Profile
  1. 2025–Present

    Sr. Full Stack Developer

    Illumia (formerly Transact Campus)

Came back from leave to a company mid-rebrand with a hard deadline — new site needed to be live for the annual conference. Had 37 days, a CMS I'd never used, and a team counting on a clean launch. Worked through it systematically, figured out what I didn't know, and got it done.

  2. 2022–2025

    Sr. Web Developer

    Transact Campus

Joined when there was no clear path to a new web presence and helped figure out what that path should look like. Mapped the work, set up the infrastructure, and got the site live in about three months — start to finish, including the full deployment pipeline.

  3. 2019–2022

    Sr. Web & Innovation Developer

    Calvary Chapel Melbourne

Over three years, worked through 10+ projects alongside staff — each one starting with a conversation about what wasn't working and ending with something that made their day-to-day easier. Kept the focus on usefulness over technical elegance.

  4. 2016–2019

    Director of Information Technology

    Calvary Chapel Melbourne

Led a small IT team and helped the organization build something more solid underneath — clearer processes, better security, a real disaster recovery plan. A lot of it was asking the right questions and being honest about what the organization needed versus what would be interesting to work on.

Problems I
Went & Solved

Event Pilot

Event organizers were drowning in spreadsheets, email threads, and disconnected tools. I mapped the workflow end-to-end, identified where things kept breaking down, and built a platform that actually matches how events get run.

My Toddler Talk

Parents wanted educational screen time but couldn't find anything that gave them real control or visibility. I defined the problem, designed the experience around how families actually work, and built a platform that serves both kids and the adults responsible for them.

Let's Build
Something
Great.

If you have a hard problem — a product that's stalled, a process that's broken, an idea that needs a plan — I'd love to hear it. I'm open to product roles, consulting engagements, and founding opportunities where clear thinking makes the difference.
